Stockholm to Heathrow - London on 22 May 2013

Getting to ARN

Goes over 200km/hr (120mph) from Stockholm central station to Arlanda, the Arlanda express is best way to airport, second airport stop, Arlanda North/Terminal 5 or SAS/SK international. Price is a bit high at 490SEK/round trip ($75usd) but no faster than this. About 40km/24 miles. Free wifi on the 22 minute train ride to terminal 5. Exit train station in direction of the train to SK checkin and go up escalators for SAS area.

Private lounge

Another excellent lounge where you have plenty of fresh food and drink! Located upstairs near gates1-10 entry area, could be far from non-Schengen gates thus requiring leaving early in order to also take care of passport control leaving Schengen.

Security

Fast track is on the left. Conveyor system of trays underneath the belt. Some reassembly tables just before the shopping. Just scan your boarding pass.

Food & shops

ARN has plenty of food options - a special mention goes to one of the cafés that serves the classic swedish räksmörgås or shrimp sandwich - I can't recall the name of the place but since ARN is my main hub I will write down its name on another review. One of the nicest things about ARN is the overall quietness.

Stockholm to Dar Es Salaam via Doha on 21 Jan 2014

Getting to ARN

ARN is a short trip distance from Stockholm city center - there are multiple ways to reach the airport - I simply take the Flygbussarna shuttle service, it runs every 10 minutes and currently cost 215 SEK or 33 USD. Expect the trip to take between 35 to 45 minutes on average.

Stockholm to Heathrow - London on 18 Nov 2013

Getting to ARN

Early departure. 4 passengers. Arlanda Express is too expensive, and wouldn't have saved much time with getting to Central Station, waiting for the train etc. The airport is far out of town and taxis always cost a fortune.

Private lounge

I am a frequent user of the SAS lounge though I didn't use it on this occasion. It's a really zen lounge though with all the amenities.

Stockholm to Tel Aviv-Yafo on 6 Jan 2014

Getting to ARN

Arrived the night before, due to 6:10am departure. Took the Pendeltåg from Southern Stockholm (commuter train, not the airport express). A bit slower, but avoided having to navigate Central Station. Cost 75kr over and above normal train fare, probably about 110kr total if you don't have a monthly pass. Spits you out in the Sky City shopping area, between Terminals 4 & 5.
