The new second level exterior check in at SAN in Terminal two is so convenient and easy. What a great first experience!
Electrical outlets beneath some of the seats. 4 gates in this area. Umbrellas are offered in order to walk out to the aircraft in case of rain.
Commuter Terminal for flights to Los Angeles. Small checkin area for three companies, AA, DL, UA.
The new Terminal at SAN is pretty cool. I remember having to wait in lines at the top of the escalators and now they have three times as many open security lines and the TSA was generally pleasant.

As I was sitting on their tarmac for more than 45 minutes, they were giving my connecting flight away.
The San Diego airport is on a human scale, and is very close to downtown. The negative side is that there were not many food outlet choices in the terminal from which my flight took off.
By leaving us on the tarmac for over 45 minutes, I did not have time to grab a snack.
